The South Australian Tourist Guide Association was formed in 2003 to cater for tour guides who work in South Australia. We are proud to represent professional and volunteer guides who work in Adelaide and country South Australia.
SATGA is active in promoting and maintaining high standards of service, educating and informing Members through seminars, social functions and familiarisations. We conduct regular familiarisations/networking meetings for Members (non members are welcome!) including visiting new tourism products.
We constantly update our Members on points of visitor and community interest (eg Greenfields Wetlands project at Salisbury) and produce a regular Newsletter -'Your Guiding Light'.
In addition, SATGA's members are given assistance with business information and insurance, subsidies for printing business cards and members are provided with a Member ID Card. As a member of GOA, SATGA and its Members adhere to GoA's Code of Conduct.
The majority of SATGA's Members have been professional Tour Guides for many years and possess attributes such as being multi-lingual, knowledge of local wine producing regions, ecotourism and 4 wheel drive and chauffeur drive qualifications.
SATGA offers the following levels of Membership:
Full Membership - entails a guide being employed professionally and possessing a current Senior First Aid Certificate and a Police Clearance. A final interview that includes a short tour is also required.
Provisional Membership- for those guides who are new to guiding. First Aid and Police clearance are not required.
Associate Membership - for volunteer guides and retired guides. For SATGA Membership applications forms and more information contact:
