GoA Accredited tour guide insurance

tour guide insurance

7th October 2011

Dear Guides

Here is a very special offer for Tour Guides

GOA has negotiated an excellent bulk deal with its insurance broker- which deals with other tourism organisations- that will be available for all Guides of Australia Accredited tour guides.

The policy is available to view on www.goa.org.au

GOA will hold the policy and guides who participate in it will receive a Certificate of Participation.

If 60 Guides of Australia Accredited Guides confirm their acceptance the fee will be $350 inclusive of all fees and charges for the period 31st October 2011 to 31stOctober 2012. If more than 70 guides confirm then we may be able to reduce the fee further next year.

The policy will cover guides with an annual income of up to $50,000 (Presently $10,000)

Public Liability - $10,000,000 and Products Liability - $10,000,000 in any one occurrence and in the aggregate any one period of insurance.

Geographical limits: Worldwide excluding USA and Canada.

The Insurer requires advice from any tour guide working outside Australia, with a maximum of 4 weeks per year allowed for tours outside Australia.

Excess: $500 each and every claim or $2,500 each and every claim relating to tours outside Australia. The excess is exclusive of costs and expenses.

Policy exclusions include all forms of adventure guiding and Bush walking tours on unmarked tracks.

If you are interested please confirm your intention to participate no later than Friday 14thOctober 2011 by email to annebottomley@bigpond.com. An invoice will then be sent to you. As GOA is required to make full Payment for the policy we require that all payments be made to GOA no later than 31st October. Details for payment will be sent with the invoice.

N.B. If your present insurance expires at a different date then our insurance broker will calculate a pro-rata rate to cover the gap as a courtesy for you.

For those of you who are not yet accredited under the Guides of Australia Accreditation Scheme we recommend that you apply either direct to GOA or through your regional Tour Guide Association. See www.goa.org.aufor the application form and list of participating associations.
